San Juan Islands

We took a mini vacation to the San Juan Islands again this year.

We fell in love with the islands last year and have decided to make this our annual vacation spot. 

The kids love to ride the ferry and look for sea creatures.

We enjoyed whale watching, hiking, eating lots and lots of fresh seafood (oysters, clams and crab), making smore's by the campfire each night and viewing beautiful sunsets. 

We packed a ton of fun into 4 days!

We can't wait to do it again.

Birthday catch up...

I realized the other day that I hadn't posted any birthday photos.  

I've feel like I've lost my "mojo" with our move, my moms move and the end of the school year activities. 

The first birthday was Capucines. 

She left days before her 16th birthday and we had a birthday party for her instead of a goodbye party.

 A few days later we celebrated Jack's 12th birthday...

 he requested only one gift, Beats, the headphones, not the vegetable.  :)

Then we celebrated Olivia's 15 birthday with a Marion Berry Pie.

Lucy has a "boy" friend.....

his name is, Ethan.

I have blogged before about these two and their sweet friendship.

Last time Ethan was at our house I took lots of photos of he and Lucy together.

He came over last Saturday and asked, "are you going to take pictures of Lucy and I today?"

I said, "sure, if you want to?"

He lit up and said, "yes!"

I grabbed an old blanket, a book and sunflowers and headed to the park.

They were so funny posing for the camera and running around. 

They make me laugh. 

I love their friendship.  They are such great buddies. 

How cute are they together?  

Mr Morton

 Last month, Jeff called me from work and said, "did you know Jack has a lead part in the upcoming school musical?"  Huh???  

I told Jeff that Jack hadn't said anything to me about it.

Well, come to find out...

one of Jeff's co-workers has a daughter in Jacks class.  

She told her dad, her dad told Jeff, Jeff told me...

I asked Jack about it later that evening and his response was, "yeah, it's no big deal."

Well, we attended the performance last Thursday and let me tell you...

it was a BIG deal!

Jack was Mr Morton from School House Rock.

He did a GREAT job!

He was so funny to watch...

he was in his element and who knew that boy could sing?

Jack has also chosen choir for his elective next year.

I can't wait to see him in more productions.

Oh, he never seizes to amaze me. 

Hopefully, next time he will tell us instead of having to hear about from someone else.  :)

My addiction....

I have been taking on-line photography classes since fall of 2011.

Last summer I learned how to shoot silhouette photos. 

I was so nervous about these types of photos.

I took my camera out and started to slowly figure out how to capture this look.

It wasn't long before it clicked and I was captivated by this style.

Lately, it's been an addiction..

I cannot take enough silhouette photos.

 This is one I took of Olivia out on the tennis court one night.

She was become a really good player and just finished up the season on her high school team.

She was even moved up to several varsity matches. 

Last weekend I asked Lucy if she wanted to go out for a photoshoot.  

She declined...

I bribed her with balloons....

and well, it worked!  :)

These last two of Lucy were taken with my Iphone.  

I've figured out how to work it too.    :)
