My Week in Pics...

My week in pics...
Monday, Lucy and her friend, Lily started Chinese camp at Gonzaga.

These next two are weather related...
This one was taken on Wednesday.  I was loving the sunshine because on Tuesday it looked.....

this!  Rainy and a high of 51 degrees.
I was beginning to think summer would never get here!

My week in pics...

I have fallen in love with Instagram.
I have started taking a "photo a day"
just to be creative and give myself a goal to find a great  "photo of the day"

I also recently purchased an Ollo Clip.
It's so much fun!  Three lens in 1.
A fisheye, wideangle and a macro lens that fits on your phone...
Genius!

Jack and Lucy enjoying the hot tub.
Taken with the fisheye lens.

Lucy, me and her 2 friends capturing a silhouette photo.
One of Lucy's friends was standing directly in front of me, so you can see her and the other friend
has on a bike helment, not a big head.  :)
I may have to try this one again, with better composition.

 Here's Jack washing my car...
I love child labor.  :)

This photo is of my friend, Cathy and I at the John Fogerty concert.
It was so much fun!

and lastly...
this is what I woke up to on Wednesday morning.
Someone broke our window next to the front door.
Luckily, no one was hurt and it will be replaced next week.
Stay turned every Friday for my "week in pics"

Where's Olivia???

Where's Olivia???
Olivia left last Friday to visit some old friends/neighbors in Colorado.
Before she left, I told her to take a "pic a day" on Instagram so I could see what she's up to.
I also told her to be creative....
I wanted to see some fun shots.
Well, this came across my phone on Saturday night....

She is outside our old house in Colorado, doing a cartwheel in the front yard!
I laugh every time I look at this photo!

I LOVE it!

Fathers Day

We had a fun filled Fathers Day.
We went hiking at Riverside State Park to enjoy the beautiful day.

The water level is really high with all the rain we've been having.
We did cross this bridge and it was both fun and scary...

I love to capture a "lone tree"

This is called the "bowl and pitcher"
It's a Spokane landmark.

Happy Fathers Day to the best dad I know!
We love you Big Daddy!!!

Summer is here!

Summer is here!  Yesterday was the last day of school.
We are all excited for summer days and for summer weather.
I have been making a list of fun things to do over the the next few months.
Thank you PINTEREST!
I went to Target to purchase bubbles, sidewalk chalk and of course, water balloons.
Lucy was so excited.
I took her to the park for a little "bubble" photoshoot.
I didn't capture the photo I had in mind....it was too windy, but Lucy had a great time and I was able to play with my camera.  :)
I love a win/win.

These were shot with my Nikon D700
50mm 1.4 lens

Summer Sports

I have always loved the sport of tennis and wanted to learn how to play.
I found a free tennis program for the summer...yes, FREE!
I have been learning to play 3x a week for the past 3 weeks and I love it!
Olivia has been joining me and she loves it too!

I was able to get some shots of her last night during one of our tennis clinics.
I'm excited for Olivia and I to have a sport we can do together.

Jack is excited about playing baseball this summer.  Last year he was unable to play due to our move. He is playing with a team that has been together for several years and most of the boys are a year or two older than Jack.  He is by far the smallest kid on the team, but everyone has been great making him feel a part of the team.  He's playing 2nd base.

All smiles even though his team lost their first game.

How cute is he?  I love a man in uniform!

Rain Rain Rain!!!

We have been having so much rain!
I can't believe it's June and I'm still in my fleece!
This past week it was only in the low 50's for the high.
This weeks forecast is better...thank goodness!

I thought it would be a good time for Lucy to model her rainboots.
She is always such a good sport and hey what kid doesn't want to go outside and jump in the puddles.

I'm thinking I should invest in a pair of rainboots for my self.

Xanadu

Look who came to see us last weekend!
My dear friend, Xan!
Xan was a neighbor of ours in Denver.
Over the years we became great friends!
We have had countless shopping adventures and we have seen each other through some difficult times.
I miss Xan and her sweet smile!
She is an amazing woman and a great mom, she has twin 2 year olds!
My kids love and adore her....I think they were just as excited to see her as I was.
These photos were all taken with my Iphone.

We had fun laughing and playing at Manito Park.

And of course, she planned her visit so she could go to Farm Chicks!
Thanks for coming Xan!
We love and miss you!
See you soon!

Chipotle Famous!

Some of you may know, our family loves Chipotle.  When we moved here last year, we were disappointed because many of our favorite restaurants aren't here in Spokane.  We heard Chipotle was opening up months ago and we have been looking forward to eating there.
Well, yesterday was the BIG day.  My friend, Cathy was able to get "soft opening" tickets.  Only 200 of these tickets were given out.  So, not only did we get eat there before the grand opening, we were able to eat free!
The local news showed up to do a feature story and interviewed Jack and I.  Check it out, it's really cute.

Fun with the sun....

I was having a little fun tonight practicing taking photos of sun flare, backlight and silhouettes.
This was my photography class assignment this week.
I love the look of the photos and I cannot believe I was able to capture them with my Iphone!

I plan on taking tons more photos like this over the summer.
I love sun-flare!

Jack's 5th Grade Graduation

Jack had his 5th grade graduation today!
I can't believe he's going to middle school next year.

Where does the time go???

He picked this outfit out.  He's such a sharp dressed man.  :)

This is his teacher, Mrs Tyson.  He says she's his favorite teacher, he says that about all his teachers. :)
You can't tell from these photos, but he has a swollen and bruised nose.
He and Jeff were playing catch yesterday before baseball practice and he got hit in the nose with the baseball.
We were worried it was broken.  There was lots of blood.  Once Jack calmed down and the bleeding stopped, he said, "this will be a great story to tell my kids one day."
Congratulations Jack!  We love you!
