Enjoying our week together...

Jeff always has the week off from work between Christmas and New Years. We usually do projects around the house but, this year decided to do some fun outings. Yesterday, Jeff took Olivia and Jack skiing and Lucy and I went to see The Princess and the Frog with some friends.

Today, we took the light-rail downtown to have lunch and do a little sight-seeing. It was really fun and something different for us to do together as a family. We had lunch at the Hardrock Cafe and did a little shopping. This was the first time Lucy has been on a train and she loved it. I wanted to take some fun "urban" photos but, it was cold out and I didn't feel like lugging my big camera. I am hoping to do some "urban" photos in the spring.

Merry Christmas!!!

We had a great Christmas! We spent Christamas Eve with Jeff's sister and her family. We came home, got on our PJ's, took some fun photos in front of the tree and wrote our letters to Santa. The kids were really excited this year. We were surprised they slept in until 7:00. We spent Christmas day playing with our new toys and we made a big Italian feast, with Jeff's grandma's homemade sauce recipe. Yummy!!

Bake Off!

Today was a great day to do our holiday baking. We woke up to about 4 inches of snow and it came down all day. We turned on the fireplace, the Christmas music and we started baking away. It was so fun!!!

Tree Day 09

Tree day! Tree day! I love tree day....it's my favorite day of the year! This year was so much fun! It had been super cold all week and then on Saturday it warmed up to mid 40's, it felt like a heat wave. :) We decided to go this year with just our family, in years past we've gone with friends. We really had fun just enjoying our family time together and creating memories of Tree day. We were lucky this year to have found a great tree in about 20 minutes, some years we've spent hours looking for just the right tree. The kids enjoyed eating donuts, drinking hot cocoa, climbing trees and just having fun in the woods. All 3 agreed to wear the Santa hats and didn't complain about the photos I was taking, they actually stopped to pose for me. :)

The kids called this tree a "colorado palm tree"

We put Jack to work this year, hauling the tree. :)

Luckily, another family came by, so we could get a family photo.

The finished tree....aahhhh!!!
